About Me

In my work, I combine my love of writing with my interest in supporting nonprofits to help organizations get the funding they need. I’m committed to work with groups with intersections in social services, environmental conservation, racial equity, LGBTQ+ issues, and more. Through my academic and work experience, I’ve developed the skills and passion to contribute to the success of nonprofit organizations.

A recent graduate, I received my BA in English with a concentration in professional and technical writing from San José State University. I spent a year working on Reed Magazine, a student-run literary magazine that has featured Push-winning authors and other successful creatives. As part of the nonfiction editorial desk and a senior editor, I evaluated submissions and led our newsletter team to increase production quality and increase readership. Additionally, I worked as an editorial intern for SJSU’s College of Humanities and Arts Marketing Department. By interviewing faculty and students, my feature article and profile pieces were published as part of the department’s fundraising magazine, Expressions, which is promoted to SJSU donors and alumni.

Working with the San Jose Public Library System for the last four years, I’ve been inspired by the role that nonprofits have in supporting local communities. While public library systems can offer many resources directly, they can also be hubs to redirect underserved communities with the proper infrastructure to find support. This work has helped me find a purpose as a writer within my field, and now I look to use my skills to help nonprofits get the funding they deserve.
